How many people fit on the 29’ Speed Boat?
Up to 12 guests. The captain and crew do not count toward that number; children count as passengers. If your group is larger, we suggest a bigger boat from the fleet.
How much does it cost to rent the 29’ Speed Boat for a day?
From USD 670 for the full day (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), per boat, not per person, including taxes, captain, crew, fuel, ice, soft drinks and your bilingual concierge. From December 15 to January 15, during Holy Week and on special dates, the owner confirms the price: those dates are quoted on WhatsApp.
How do I pay for the booking?
Online with Bold, in Colombian pesos at the official exchange rate of the day: credit or debit card, PSE, Nequi or Bancolombia. If your trip is within the next 30 days you pay 100%; if it is further out, 60% when you book and 40% fifteen days before. Also, payment must be made by the person named on the booking. Nothing is paid at the dock.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes, an electronic invoice in the name of the person booking, with the ID you enter in step 3. It arrives by email.
What if the 29’ Speed Boat is unavailable or has a breakdown?
Then we assign one of the same or higher category at no extra cost. If that does not work for you, we refund 100%. We confirm every booking with the captain within 30 minutes (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
Does anyone on board speak English?
Your concierge, Melanie, speaks English and Spanish and stays in touch with you and the crew on WhatsApp throughout the trip. The concierge is included in the price.
How big is the 29’ Speed Boat?
29 feet long (about 9 meters). More length means more deck, more shade and a smoother ride to the Rosario Islands. If you are torn between two sizes, tell us about your group and we will recommend one.
Does it have cabins and a bathroom?
It is a day speedboat: no cabins and 1 bathroom on board, made for island hopping, swimming and sunbathing. It is not for overnight stays.
How long is the trip and where does it leave from?
Eight hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It departs from the Cartagena pier we confirm with your booking.
Can we watch the sunset or go out at night?
The trip returns at 5:00 p.m., so we do not offer night departures. To watch the sunset from the water, ask us on WhatsApp for a sunset plan on the bay.
How do I get to the marina?
You can arrive by Uber (about COP 15,000, 10 to 15 minutes from the Old Town or Bocagrande) or by car, with free parking. We send you the address and map when we confirm.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes, with no restrictions. Water, soft drinks, ice, coolers and cups are on board; bring the liquor and food you like. If you want a bar with a mixologist or served food, add them as extras when you book.
What if it rains?
Trips run rain or shine because showers in Cartagena are usually short. We only cancel if the Port Authority (DIMAR) closes the port; in that case you choose another date at no cost or we refund what you paid.
Why do you ask for IDs or passports?
The Colombian Maritime Authority (DIMAR) requires every passenger to be registered before departure; it is a national safety rule. We ask for the documents after payment, through a secure link, and they are only used for that registration.
What should I bring, and what is not allowed on board?
Bring a towel, sunscreen, your snorkel gear if you want to use it and, if you have allergies, your medication. There are life jackets, and you can also connect your music by Bluetooth. Grills and hookahs only on request: ask when you book, because they depend on the boat and the captain approves them. Red wine, drinks that stain and pets are not allowed.
Should we tip?
We suggest 10% of the services you book (the speedboat, extras and transport) for your concierge, who looks after you from start to finish. It is optional: if you accept it when you book, it is added to your payment (or to the second payment if you pay in two parts). You can skip it or change the amount.
Can I change the date or cancel?
You can change the date once, up to 7 days before and subject to availability; if the new date has a different rate, you pay the difference. If you cancel or do not show up, payments are non-refundable, because when we confirm we pay the owner to guarantee your date. If you book more than 5 business days ahead, you can withdraw within 5 business days of payment and we refund 100%, with no deductions.
What will we do during the trip?
You cruise to Playa Blanca, snorkel in the Rosario Islands, stop by the floating bars of Cholón and come back across the bay in the afternoon light. The captain adjusts the order to the sea and to what your group wants.
